Upcoming Caring Events

During the somber season of Lent with its purple color, Cynthiana Christian Church will gather our energies and direct our lives for the great celebration of Easter, which is the high point of our liturgical year.  We will do so for 40 week days since Ash Wednesday and until the Saturday before Easter Sunday.

Through our Worship Services of Thankful Praise, we will emphasize four things:  1) the remembrance of our baptisms and the promises we made to God and Christ when we were baptized; 2) the remembrance of the meaning of the cross in our faith and lives; 3) the difficult practice of spiritual discipline and its importance in our relationship with God; and 4) the confession of our sins which lead to the crucifixion of Christ.

Come join "The People Who Care" and grow with us as we seriously, but joyfully, approach the cross of Christ with confidence that God will use that old rugged cross AND our daily crosses as instruments for the saving of the world.

Sunday, March 14, 2010:  

          *  The Barnabas Team V will meet following the worship service.  Elders are Marilynn Bell and Ishmael Hopkins.  This is a wonderful ministry open to all members of the congregation.  The teams deliver the congregation's care through notes, visits and calls to visitors and members needing encouragement.  Call the church office to join a Barnabas Team (234-5332).  You will be blessed as well as be a blessing.

        *  Eldership Meeting following the Morning Worship Service of Thankful Praise in the small sanctuary.

        *  Our Church Relay for Life Team will be ollecting their "Change for a Cure" following the worship service.

       *  Youth Group Regular Meeting Times on Sunday are:

                    Jr Chi Rho:  Kindergarten to Grade 3:

                          5:00 - 5:45 PM  Choir and music training

                          5:45 - 6:30 PM  Jr Chi Rho program with Brad

                     Chi Rho:  Grades 4 to 8:

                          5:00 - 5:45 PM  Program with Brad

                          5:45 - 6:30 PM  Choir and music training with Diane Ritchie

                    CYF:  All High School Youth:  At Brad's house tonight (7:00 PM)

       Tuesday, March 16, 2010

             * (11:30 AM):  The CWF Morning Circle will meet at the home of Anna Bishop for lunch and an afternoon of fellowship and cards.  Please let Kathy Brown or Julie Edwards know if you plan to attend. 

             * (6:30 PM):  The CMF Monthly Supper will be held in Bish Hall.  Bean soup, cornbread and desserts!!!!!!!

       Wednesday, March 17, 2010:  

     *  The Women's Bible Study (9:00 AM)

     *   The Pastor's Class (3:30 PM) will meet in the5th and 6th grade Sunday School room.  This class is for especially youth who are seriously thinking about their Christian faith and baptism.

     *  Junior Chi Rho Youth Group (4 :00 - 5:00 PM) will meet at the church.

      *  Handbell Choir Practice (5:30 - 7:00 PM)  Dare to join this ministry by just showing up.  You do not have to read music to make music.  Come and find out how.  This is one sure fun way to witness to your faith and be blessed!!!!!!

     *  Choir Practice (7:00 PM)  Come join in on this ministry.  

Friday, March 19, 2010:

     *   (7:30 AM) Youth Prayer Breakfast Club meets at the church in Bish Hall.

     *  (8:00 PM)  Jr Chi Rho Movie Night at the church!!!!!!

Saturday, March 20, 2010:

        *  Men's Bible Study (8:00 AM).

PLEASE NOTE:  FORMS FOR YOUTH CHURCH CAMP ARE AVAILABLE IN THE CHURCH OFFICE OR ON THE BULLETIN BOARD OUTSIDE BISH HALL.  DATES OF THE CAMPS ARE ALSO LISTED ON THE BULLETIN BOARD.

Our 70 member Survey of the Bible is taking place from 9:30 to 10:30 AM each Sunday from January 3, 2010 to early July, 2010.
