We as Disciples Continue to Desert Jesus
Reading for Saturday, March 20
John 6:60-71
The season of Lent is to recognize the aspects of our lives that separate us from God. Will you be truthful with yourself and before God or will you continue to desert Jesus? We all struggle with sin and by its very nature, drives a wedge in our relationship with our Father. When we exercise our choice of free will and follow our own misguided path, we have failed to follow Jesus. It becomes clearly evident in my own life when I struggle to accomplish “my” desires that I am not following His will. Join me today in praying for forgiveness of what separates us from our Father and rededicate your life to following God’s will.
I continuously strive to be a faithful disciple of Christ, but every day I fail. The gift of grace bestowed upon us by the death of Jesus Christ saves us from the damnation that our sin deserves. As Christians we can rejoice everyday of our lives that when we fall short of God’s will, forgiveness is ours. I challenge you today to be a disciple and remove the fear of failure from your heart, as verse 69 tells us, “we have come to believe and to know that you are the Holy One of God.”
